Reconvene '26 in Santa Monica
Moses and Simran Kagan's sixth Reconvene: two talks on AI, three days with operators and investors, and an Opportunity Zones breakout with Jimmy Atkinson.

I spent three days in Santa Monica at Reconvene, the gathering of GPs and LPs that Moses Kagan and Simran Kagan put on every fall. This was the sixth Reconvene, and I’ve been at all six. Every detail is thought through, and the people are the reason to go: operators and investors from all over the country, with very few people there to sell anything.
A few highlights:
- AI. Jake Heller and Rhett Bennett both gave great talks on AI. I came home with a list of things to try at Savoy.
- The people. Most of the value was at meals and in the hallways. I spent the time with operators and investors I learn from, and I met a few new ones.
- Opportunity Zones. Jimmy Atkinson and I ran a breakout on OZ 2.0. Reconvene is off the record, so I won’t recap it here. But I always enjoy nerding out on OZ with Jimmy, and the room had plenty of people who have done OZ deals or are thinking about one. If you’d like the slide deck, reach out.
Thank you, Moses and Simran, for another thoughtful event.
