The Marcus opens in the Cedars
The ribbon cutting for The Marcus, 76 new apartments in the Cedars neighborhood of Dallas, and the first building where Savoy did every job itself.
On March 3, 2026, we cut the ribbon on The Marcus, 76 new apartments in the Cedars, just south of downtown Dallas. Dallas City Council Member Jesse Moreno and members of the Dallas Public Facility Corporation’s board joined us, along with a lot of neighbors and the partners who made it possible.
It is the first building where Savoy was the developer, the general contractor and the property manager. About half of the apartments are reserved for households earning 80% of the area median income or less, and that commitment runs for 60 years through the partnership with the City’s public facility corporation.
The Cedars was one of Dallas’s first residential neighborhoods, and it sat overlooked for a long time. It is in an Opportunity Zone, which is a big part of why this building exists.
Candy’s Dirt covered the opening: “New Savoy Project Opens in the Cedars Amid Downtown Southside Momentum.” I posted about it on X too.
